Service Assurance Engineer

Key Responsibility Areas

Assurance Support
Acting as the 1st level for diagnostic and fault resolution, interacting with Telcos and customers, managing SLAs and using the trouble ticketing system.
Providing all corporate customers with full technical support, identifying the need and appropriate point for escalation when necessary.
Technical support to the other countries Operations/NOC teams and other company departments where requested.

Provisioning Support
Implementing customer and internal projects in partnership with the designated Project Manager.

Skills, experience and capabilities

Technical Competency
In depth knowledge and experience of ATM, DSL, Leased Line, Ethernet services, ISDN and dial connections for diagnostic, fault resolution and escalation purposes.
Knowledge and understanding of IP hardware architectures, routing and switching technologies, including MPLS and IPSEC VPNs, QoS, BGP, L2TP, PPP.
Knowledge of Security Management principles, tools and equipments.
Working knowledge of Cisco routers, switches and firewalls and of the monitoring/management tools and principles.

Problem analysis and troubleshooting
Ability to integrate complex datamultiple sources and provide clarity.
Lateral thinking to find simple and efficient solution.
Able to identify issues, seek for relevant data, recognise important information and be able to diagnose the possible causes:
- Asks appropriate, probing questions to obtain the appropriate information
- Takes a logical and organised approach to problem solving
- Identifies the root cause of problems and takes positive actions to prevent reoccurrence

Communication Skills
Efficient interaction with all levels of the customer organization during delivery phase as well as in difficult situations, for example during fault management.
Develops long-term relationships with the key players within the customer organisation, establishing trust.
Strong, but diplomatic approach versus the suppliers.
Document and present new ideas and projects.

Experience
Minimum 2 years expertise with corporate ISP/Carrier industry.

Language skills
Fluent in Italian and English. Knowledge of French would be an advantage.

Other
Ability and eagerness to quickly pick up and master new technologies
Self motivated to study and progress technical skills.
Adaptability / Flexibility
Availability to work on shift and on call.
Knowledge of unix shell and scripting is appreciated.
The following qualifications will be considered a plus:
- Cisco CCNA
- ITIL
- PRINCE II
